About ASSiST
ASSiST started as a Texas non-profit corporation in Oct 2015 and received 501(c)(3) status from the IRS in June 2016. We are an all volunteer based organization, and all of our activities are supported through the generous donations of our community partners who are listed on the Sponsors tab.
Formed for the purpose of advancing STEM for students in South Texas, ASSiST's mission statement is "to empower students of all ages to collaboratively explore, learn, and lead using science, technology, engineering, and math." Basically, we are an affiliation of coaches, educators, and parents dedicated to provided STEM opportunities for students in our area.
The Corporation is organized and shall be operated exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501c3 and 170c2 of the IRS code... In furtherance of the foregoing purposes, the Corporation shall:

Promote involvement in science, technology, engineering, math, computer, and robotics.

Promote and support involvement in robotics-based competitions such as, but not limited to, those sponsored by FIRST Foundation (http://www.usfirst.org).

Provide a positive, structured environment to meet and work with professional mentors.

Provide technology and science education to students to improve their ability to enter the workforce upon graduation.
