501c3 Application Was Approved!
On 9-30-15, Texas recognized ASSiST as a Domestic Nonprofit Corporation. On 6-17-16, ASSiST received IRS 501 (c)(3) approval. Upon request, IRS tax receipts will be provided for all donations to ASSiST or member teams. Texas has also granted ASSiST a sales tax exemption for some purchases related to ASSiST expenses. #501c3


ASSiST Expands!
We are currently in the midst of FIRST Tech Challenge robotics season. ASSiST was able to "assist" 4 FIRST Tech Challenge teams and 2 FIRST Lego League teams by receiving and distributing grant money. We have received and processed grants from NRG, Jacobs Engineering, UTC Aerospace, Humphrey Ltd, and Dow in addition to smaller grants from local grocery stores like Kroger, HEB, and Randalls. Since receiving the 501c3, ASSiST has received and distributed over $20,000. #ASSiS


ERROR 404 FTC Team Wins Inspire Award!
Error 404, the FIRST Tech Challenge team that started ASSiST, won the Inspire award at the San Jacinto College Qualifying tournament on Jan. 21, 2017. This award automatically qualifies the team to advance to the SE Texas Regional Championship on Feb. 18.
